Бюст Б. Б. Городовикова

Бюст – памятник Герою Советского Союза, военному и государственному деятелю Б.Б. Городовикову (1910–1983).

Возглавляемая Басаном Бадьминовичем Городовиковым дивизия первой вышла на Государственную границу СССР в Восточной Пруссии и осуществила прорыв обороны Квантунской армии Японии.

17 лет он руководил Калмыкией, сумел буквально из руин возродить Республику после войны и возвращения калмыков из депортации.

Поплечный портрет изображает легендарного генерал-лейтенанта в гражданском костюме и рубашке с галстуком. Открытое лицо с густыми усами, волосы зачесаны назад. На левой стороне груди рельефно изображена Звезда Героя Советского Союза. Гладкие гранитные блоки постамента подчеркивают строгость архитектурной формы. Автор добился портретного сходства, четко отметив главное в характере Героя - целеустремленность, твердость, решительность, мужество.

Bust of B. B. Gorodovikov

The bust is a monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, military and statesman B.B. Gorodovikov (1910-1983).

Led by Basan Badminovich Gorodovikov, the division was the first to reach the USSR state border in East Prussia and break through the defense of the Kwantung Army of Japan.

For 17 years he ruled Kalmykia, managed to literally revive the Republic from the ruins after the war and the return of Kalmyks from deportation.

The shoulder portrait depicts the legendary lieutenant general in civilian suit and shirt and tie. An open face with a thick mustache, hair slicked back. The Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union is depicted in relief on the left side of the chest. Smooth granite blocks of the pedestal emphasize the severity of the architectural form. The author achieved a portrait resemblance, clearly noting the main thing in the character of the Hero - determination, firmness, determination, courage.
