Памятник В. И. Ленину
Памятник открыт к 100-летию со дня рождения вождя мирового пролетариата, величайшего теоретика, ученого, вдохновителя и организатора Великой Октябрьской социалистической революции, создателю первого в мире государства рабочих и крестьян.
Фигура Владимира Ильича Ленина отлита из бронзы на Мытищенском заводе художественного литья Худфонда РСФСР. Постамент выполнен в мастерских того же завода из украинского лабрадорита по проекту архитектора, профессора И.Е. Рожина. Скульптурное изваяние в числе других было допущено на конкурс памятника Ленину в Кремле к 100-летию вождя, как один из возможных вариантов. Для сооружения памятника Ленину в Кремле был отобран другой проект, Художественный совет Министерства РСФСР удовлетворил просьбу Калмыцкого обкома КПСС и Совета Министерств Калмыцкой АССР соорудить в Элисте памятник Ленину по проекту скульпторов М.Г. Манизер и О.М. Манизер.
В 2005 году, в связи с реконструкцией площади имени Ленина, памятник В.И. Ленина был перенесен на противоположную сторону. Проведены работы по реставрации пьедестала, обновления основания и обустройству территории.
Высота памятника с постаментом 9 м. 95 см. Постамент из темного украинского лабрадорита состоит из 4-угольного стилобата шириною 14 м. глубиной 9 м.
Круглый, полированный ствол постамента увенчан в верхней части бронзовым кольцом шириной 79 см с национальным орнаментом.

Statue of V.I. Lenin
The monument was opened to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the world proletariat's leader, the greatest theoretician, scientist, inspirer and organizer of the Great October Socialist Revolution, the creator of the world's first state of workers and peasants.
The figure of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was cast from bronze at the Mytishchensky Artistic Casting Plant of the RSFSR Art Fund. The pedestal was made in the workshops of the same plant from Ukrainian labradorite according to the project of the architect, professor I.E. Rozhina. The sculptural statue, among others, was admitted to the competition for a monument to Lenin in the Kremlin for the 100th anniversary of the leader, as one of the possible options. For the construction of a monument to Lenin in the Kremlin, another project was selected, the Artistic Council of the Ministry of the RSFSR satisfied the request of the Kalmyk Regional Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministries of the Kalmyk ASSR to build a monument to Lenin in Elista according to the project of sculptors M.G. Manizer and O.M. Manizer.
In 2005, while the reconstruction of Lenin Square, the monument to V.I. Lenin was moved to the opposite side. The pedestal was restored, the base and the territory were renovated.
The height of the monument with the pedestal is 9 m. 95 cm. The pedestal of dark Ukrainian labradorite consists of a rectangular stylobate 14 m wide and 9 m deep.
The round, polished trunk of the pedestal is crowned in the upper part with a bronze ring 79 cm wide with a national ornament.
